About The Position

This role is expected to multi-task between several manufacturing projects, working closely with operations departments to determine daily tasks and priorities which support conforming, high quality, product deliverables. Requirements

  • Must be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient with 3-D modeling and 2-D drafting using Inventor
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations to substantiate a design
  • Familiarity with material specifications and standard hardware specifications
  • BS in Technology, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 0-4 years’ experience in engineering or related industry, aerospace preferred
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with manufacturing engineering concepts and practices, and tool designs
  • Experience with evaluating and troubleshooting malfunctioning products (electrical products a plus)
  • Develops manufacturing processes that maximize efficiency by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Perform floor support to solve immediate production constraints and support builds
  • Accurately capture manufacturing costs via time studies for all major sequential manufacturing operations to validate standard accuracy
  • Develop corrective actions to improve the production system, reducing Scrap Rework and Repair (SRR) cost and hours per unit (HPU).
  • Perform manufacturing evaluations of engineering changes and initial designs for manufacturability
  • Create cost reduction initiatives
  • Other Manufacturing Engineering standard work (Tool Trial Runs, Work Around Plans, etc.).
  • Revise engineering drawings as required to maintain legacy product data
  • Understanding of engineering drafting standards and practices
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Mark up drawings and create redlines for engineering incorporation
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
