About The Position

Applied Engineering, Inc. is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team in West Bend, WI as a Manufacturing Engineer. You will be part of a group of engineers dedicated to high-quality work, value-add solutions, skill development, and career growth. This role is hands‑on and fast‑moving, supporting daily manufacturing needs, reducing scrap and rework, and leading data‑driven process‑improvement initiatives. You’ll own projects from concept through implementation, provide technical support to operators and engineers, and collaborate with suppliers and cross‑functional teams. Reporting to our Milwaukee team, we welcome candidates from West Bend area and beyond to apply. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing or process engineering within metal‑fabrication environments (stamping, forming, buffing/sanding, press operations, CNC, etc.)
  • Strong hands‑on experience supporting production and troubleshooting on the shop floor
  • Proven ability to improve process flow, eliminate bottlenecks, and optimize high‑volume or complex fabrication processes
  • Skilled in performing time studies, validating production rates, and using data to drive decisions
  • Strong documentation skills for process improvements, pilots, and measurable results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and comfort using technology for tracking, analysis, and reporting
  • Experience developing, improving, and maintaining SOPs and standard work
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, ramp up quickly, and take ownership of improvement initiatives
  • Experience leading Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured process‑improvement efforts
  • Background supporting multi‑shift or high‑mix production environments
  • Experience serving as a technical resource for operators or junior engineers
  • Capable of working independently and as a team member

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in throughput, efficiency, and overall production performance
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across multi‑step fabrication processes
  • Improve SOPs and standard work, ensuring consistent adherence on the floor
  • Reduce scrap and rework through data‑driven process improvements
  • Support day‑to‑day manufacturing needs with minimal oversight
  • Identify training gaps and support operator training and skill development
  • Lead process‑focused initiatives that enable internal engineers to stay focused on project and capex priorities
  • Own complex improvement efforts from concept through implementation, including documentation, validation, and measurable results
  • Serve as a technical resource for cross‑functional teams and influence process direction
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Newburg, Kohler, Germantown, Menomonee Falls, and Brookfield, and the greater West Bend area
