About The Position

This role is responsible for the engineering of assigned areas of glass fabrication, managing process-related tooling, and troubleshooting line operations. The Manufacturing Engineer will issue and revise drawings and process sheets, develop and implement continuous improvements to enhance capability and reduce scrap, and verify component conformance to customer specifications. The position involves analyzing weekly production results, identifying deficiencies, and implementing necessary improvements. Collaboration with operators to reduce defects, increase throughput, and improve product dimensional capability is key. The role also includes training operators on safe and effective equipment operation, leading root cause analysis of failures, and driving corrective action implementation. Additionally, the engineer will originate and develop analysis methods for component and equipment reliability, monitor PM programs, and provide technical support to the maintenance department. Utilizing the equipment downtime database to identify trends and implement corrective actions, as well as designing and implementing equipment changes to improve reliability, productivity, efficiency, and quality yield, are also core functions. Attending daily meetings to drive continuous improvement and compliance with productivity goals is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical) or any equivalent technical degree
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines
  • Solid understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Why, Pareto and other tools to improve and sustain production levels
  • Proven understanding of tools, quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations
  • Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
  • Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in a Manufacturing Environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the execution and effectiveness of the PM programs, identify any deficiencies, and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Provide leadership and technical support to cultivate a proactive maintenance service department
  • Utilize the equipment downtime database to identify trends and premature failure issues, and implement corrective actions to address and track progress
  • Design, develop, and implement equipment changes that will correct reliability, improve productivity, improve efficiencies, and increase quality product yield
  • Attend daily meetings to drive immediate continuous improvement and compliance to productivity goals
