About The Position

Our Moog Industrial Group is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join them. You will report to the Value Stream Managers and will have an onsite work schedule in Murphy, North Carolina. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will handle projects or parts of projects assigned by management, offer support in process development and continuous improvement, participate in ensuring product designs are manufacturable, assist and drive failure mode effect analysis, sign off on drawings and detail assembly operations, provide concept designs for production tools and fixtures, compile instructions and routings, perform cost analysis and provide labor content for quotes, apply LEAN manufacturing principles, develop layouts for assembly lines, assist in product packaging development and selection, justify and purchase equipment, provide daily support to assigned areas, and support offshore suppliers as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/engineering technology OR An associate’s degree with 6 years’ equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years in manufacturing electromechanical devices or related fields.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support product lines.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints.
  • Knowledge of statistical monitoring practices.
  • CAD experience for creating visual work instructions.
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Lean/5S Manufacturing background.
  • Experience in tooling design (actual or conceptual).
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery.
