About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer conducts specialized assignments to develop new methods, tooling, and machine designs, cost estimates, and/or to resolve engineering problems involved in manufacturing or quality control using basic and sound engineering principles, policies and controls. This role involves designing, implementing, and documenting processes for shop floor activities, considering best engineering practices, health and safety, environmental requirements, product quality, and regulatory compliance. The engineer will also participate in audits, design jigs and fixtures, provide technical support for shop floor operations, assist in problem investigation and resolution, and research new processes and equipment.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent.
  • Associate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing OR a minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing in an assembly or machine shop environment.
  • Experience in an Assembly environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Good basic electro/mechanical engineering skills.
  • Experience or ability to learn Labview.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new methods, tooling, and machine designs.
  • Create cost estimates and resolve engineering problems in manufacturing or quality control.
  • Design, implement, and document shop floor processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, product quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in audits of company activities.
  • Design specialist jigs or fixtures for production build and test activities.
  • Provide technical support for shop floor operations, including process instructions, documentation control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Actively assist in problem investigation and resolution.
  • Assist in improving maintenance and provide support where necessary.
  • Investigate new processes and equipment.
  • Provide estimates for equipment costs for proposals and project cost targets.
