About The Position
Gusmer Enterprises is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support equipment, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives within our production environment. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience in manufacturing while contributing to safety, quality, and efficiency improvements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and take ownership of engineering projects while continuing to develop your technical and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Plastics, or Materials Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Basic understanding of process improvement and root cause analysis methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Ability to manage projects and work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Nice To Haves
- Preferred 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
- experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute engineering projects, including defining scope and objectives
- Support equipment installation, modification, and process improvements
- Develop and maintain work instructions and equipment documentation
- Analyze data to identify trends in process performance and reliability
- Assist with cost analysis and capital improvement justification
- Provide regular updates on project progress and outcomes
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including defining project scope and objectives
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues alongside production and maintenance teams
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity
- Support production during startups, changeovers, and ongoing operations
