About The Position

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer – Process Improvement to join our team in Sanford, NC. This role provides hands-on exposure to a high-volume manufacturing operation, driving continuous improvement through equipment, process, and facility enhancements that increase manufacturing efficiency, quality, and capacity. The position supports new product introductions, process improvements, and capital planning activities, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, repeatable production performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2-4 years of relevant experience is required
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles, and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Manufacturing Equipment & Processes: Knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and logistics equipment used in manufacturing, including the ability to safely operate, maintain, update, and store them. Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies, and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage, and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
  • Problem Management Process: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies, and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bring problems to successful resolution.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, organized, and safety-minded, with comfort working alongside production teams in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Creo, AutoCAD, and Geneo.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems, etc.).
  • Project management experience and/or PMP certification.
  • Lean certification such as Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement through equipment, process, and facility enhancements that increase manufacturing efficiency, quality, and capacity.
  • Perform engineering analysis and provide recommendations for manufacturing systems, equipment, training, facility, and product design requirements.
  • Evaluate projects and prepare feasibility studies to define desired results, assess value proposition, and determine project plans.
  • Analyze specifications and manage acquisition for new or replacement assembly tools and equipment.
  • Develop and implement assembly processes in line with standard manufacturing processes.
  • Support capital planning, forecasting, and reporting related to new product introductions, capacity increases, equipment replacement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improve space utilization across manufacturing and office areas.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Engineering teams to evaluate projects, implement standard assembly processes, validate equipment readiness, resolve process issues, and optimize facility space utilization.
  • Complete specialized and broad-based assignments and projects requiring collaboration and integration across functions.
