We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Early Career (E1) to support the commissioning, implementation, and optimization of metal fabrication manufacturing processes within our switchgear operations. This entry-level role focuses on supporting equipment commissioning, training, and early-stage process development under guidance from senior engineers. Please note: This position requires 100% onsite presence in our Jacksonville sites and does not offer remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, or related technical field
  • Experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment
  • Experience in 3D CAD/CAM Software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in an on-site production environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking ability

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with metal fabrication processes and equipment
  • Exposure to equipment commissioning or production ramp-up
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools
  • Experience working with CNC equipment OEMs such as Amada or similar

Responsibilities

  • Support installation, commissioning, and validation of metal fabrication equipment (CNC punching, press brakes, welding, powder coating, wire processing, and busbar equipment)
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors during setup, FAT/SAT, and production ramp-up
  • Assist with manufacturing cell layout, material flow, and facility readiness
  • Develop standard work, SOPs, and training materials for operators and technicians
  • Support operator and maintenance training during equipment launch
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and throughput improvements
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles to improve safety, ergonomics, and process stability
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities, and EHS teams
  • Support future equipment procurement, expansion, and optimization initiatives
  • Occasional travel to vendors or other IEM facilities as required
