About The Position

This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to automation needs, perform engineering calculations, manage projects, and provide technical assistance for production builds. The role involves reviewing and recommending fixture and tooling designs, analyzing workflow and workspace layouts for efficiency, and processing engineering information through change notices and proposals. Interns will also participate in cost studies, project time estimations, and technical proposals, while supporting senior engineers in design and reporting.

Requirements

  • Pursuing either an associate or bachelor’s degree in weld engineering, robotics, mechatronics, programming, engineering or a related field.

  • Background in fabrication.
  • Experience with offline programming.

Responsibilities

  • Review and develop welding procedures according to applicable codes and standards.
  • Support future automation needs including cost analysis, programming, and integration.
  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks related to fabrication processes.
  • Responsible for managing projects or parts of a project to ensure quality of work while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production builds.
  • Review and recommend fixture and tooling designs.
  • Analyze space requirements, workflow and designs layout for equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Review and process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, continuous improvement requests etc.
  • Participate in cost studies, project time estimation, and technical proposals.
  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh Corporation’s engineering standards and processes.
  • Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may be responsible for managing multiple projects.
  • Review legislative and regulatory proposals or actions to determine impact on projects.
