Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited University/College Engineering program; preferred majors are Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be able to commute to BD Sandy, UT office.
  • For most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work-life balance.
  • For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Real Solutions - Provide critical daily support to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams
  • Collaborate with Production Teams - Work alongside production personnel to improve equipment operation and implement process improvements
  • Develop Technical Troubleshooting Skills - Learn to diagnose and repair production equipment alongside our maintenance professionals
  • Design the Future - Assist project leaders with technical tasks including design, modeling, component coordination, and implementing validated improvements
  • Tackle Production Challenges - Represent engineering on TPM teams to identify, isolate, and solve recurring production issues
  • Master Validation Principles - Receive specialized BD validation training and apply these critical skills under expert guidance
  • Learn Six-Sigma Methodology - Gain "Six-Sigma Lite" training and apply these powerful problem-solving techniques daily
  • Lead Engineering Initiatives - Take ownership of smaller engineering projects and short-term production support initiatives
  • Uphold Safety & Quality Standards - Comply with all BD, local, state, and federal safety regulations, including RCRA Hazardous Waste protocols
  • Champion Quality Assurance - Apply sound quality principles in alignment with BD's commitment to excellence
