About The Position
This internship offers a hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, focusing on process analysis and improvement. The intern will support production efficiency, continuous improvement initiatives, and data collection. Responsibilities include developing work instructions, participating in lean manufacturing activities, assisting with tooling and equipment projects, and collaborating with various departments to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes. The role also involves supporting safety and ergonomic improvements and conducting time studies.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or related college degree)
- Basic English language skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Must write clearly and concisely
- Must use courtesy and tact with internal and external customers
- Proficient in college-level Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry
Responsibilities
- Assist with analyzing and improving manufacturing processes and workflows
- Support production efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities
- Help develop and update work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Participate in lean manufacturing and 5S activities
- Assist with tooling, fixture, and equipment improvement projects
- Support quality and root cause analysis investigations
- Work with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Help optimize plant layout and material flow processes
- Assist in time studies and labor efficiency evaluations
- Support implementation of safety and ergonomic improvements
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production departments on various projects
