About The Position

The Amphenol CDI Manufacturing Development Engineering position is a leader and contributor for activities related to the implementation and use of Lean Manufacturing activity in the facility. This position is expected to use engineering principles and tools to identify areas for opportunity, support and contribute to the team to analyze data and implement improvements. This position will help lead the team to drive new product Implementation, control variation, and improve processes. Reporting to the Manufacturing Development Manager, part of the team that will drive continuous improvement and new product Development in the facility. In addition, this position will provide full-time environmental health and safety support for the operations of the factory and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with Federal, State and CDI regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience in engineering and continuous improvement and an understanding of electromechanical assembly and test; wire harness manufacturing, RF cable, RF connector build and test familiarity a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and change management skills in complex organizations
  • Dynamic communication skills with ability to work at all levels of an organization including briefings to senior leaders
  • Has or is willing to obtain EH&S Certification or Training
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and Minitab
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering or other STEM background
  • Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering experience is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.
  • The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external.
  • Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Candidate must be able to legally work in the United States; we are unable to provide sponsorship.
  • Position requires candidate to be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in Environmental Health and Safety role
  • Six Sigma Green Belt a plus with award certification through ASQ or an equivalent body. Progress toward Green Belt certification may be considered with appropriate level of expertise and experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall support and contribution in problem solving to the team.
  • Significant problem-solving involves changes in products, processes and equipment leading to improvement in business.
  • Assisting in the development of new processes including standard work, Product Instructions and Manufacturing Instructions
  • Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
  • Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach
  • Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with CDI policies and safety requirements.
  • Provide advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
  • Perform and contribute to the Site Training Plans by conducting employee orientations; emergency response training; and coordination of modular training programs for the operation.
  • Assist with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures
  • Assist in evaluating new tools, equipment, and processes to aid production efficiency and safety
  • Providing data and analysis to drive CAPEX decisions
  • Competency in tools such as 8D, PFMEA, DMEA, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Participating in and leading Continuous Improvement events
  • Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions.
  • Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety.
  • Maintain working relationships with Regulatory Agencies and chair or co- chair and lead the Safety Committee for the Operation.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company
