About The Position

Our Auburn plan is part of Regal Rexnord’s Industrial Powertrain Solutions (IPS) Division and we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 to support process improvement, production optimization, and hands‑on engineering projects within our machining and assembly operations. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will work directly with our engineering, production, and quality teams to support daily operations and improvement projects. This role is ideal for a student who wants real‑world exposure to machining processes, tooling, workflow optimization, and manufacturing problem‑solving in a high‑mix, precision‑manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, machining, or industrial processes
  • Ability to work hands‑on in a production environment
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of machining concepts and/or measurement tools (a plus, not required)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with process improvement projects in machining, assembly, and material flow
  • Support time studies, workflow analysis, and data collection on the shop floor
  • Help develop or update standard work, work instructions, and visual aids
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Assist engineers with tooling evaluations, fixture improvements, and process trials
  • Support quality checks, measurement studies, and documentation updates
  • Contribute to safety and 6S initiatives across the facility
  • Perform other engineering support tasks as assigned
