Manufacturing Engineer III
About The Position
Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components to help customers push the frontiers of innovation. AEC's core strength is its ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components using a unique blend of products including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies. This allows AEC to produce composite components and products that meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites. The Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for activities such as layup, cure, machining, bonding, painting, and assembly of composite materials and structures. This role adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions, plans the arrangement of machines within plant facilities for the most efficient and productive layout, and plans the sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. The role may also incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Requirements
- BS in designated Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience
- US Citizenship required

- Work in a production and assembly environment
- Experience with Automated Fiber Placement
- Ultrasonic Inspection
- Composite tooling and tool design

- Shop Planning Generation (MS Word Products, etc)
- Working in / Leading a multi-disciplined team
- GD&T
- CATIA V5
- Green Belt Certified a plus
- Experience in Windchill, and SAP a plus
- Aerospace manufacturing a plus

- Performs Root Cause and Corrective Action / Nonconformance Disposition (MRB)
