  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role: 5+ years for Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years for Sr Manufacturing Engineer)
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Can demonstrate creating English work instructions for technicians and inspectors
  • Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100.
  • Open to working extended hours when required
  • Attention to detail and drive to deliver results
  • Passion for rockets, space, the team, and our mission is a must!

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive is preferred
  • Experience with at least one of the following manufacturing processes: machining, assembly, welding, heat treating, non-destructive test
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T
  • Basic tooling or fixture design and fabrication
  • Experience working with Bill-of-materials and BOM reconciliation
  • Strong organizational, project management, and presentation skills (Gantt charting, JIRA tickets, MS Project, Confluence, or similar)
  • Prior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotive

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, implement, optimize and own rocket engine assembly, integration, and test processes.
  • Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware by developing manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing processes: receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
  • Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT), key to building reliable engines for space exploration.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
  • Design, procure, install, and qualify custom manufacturing equipment/fixtures.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., precision machining, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
  • Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance.
  • Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001), supporting a safe and sustainable future in space.
  • Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
