This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, and Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Prior internship experience in areas of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T.
• Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.

• Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
• Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Nice To Haves

• Hands on experience with building flight hardware
• 5+ year experience in an engineering capacity, including internships
• Experience with design, development or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites.
• Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Creo or CATIA V5)
• Customer focused with a proven track record to work cooperatively with teams of different skills across large geographic distances.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Translating engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions
• Identifying tools and equipment required for manufacturing flight hardware
• Providing shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor
• Non-conformance report (NCR) generation, management, & closure
• Supporting introduction of new products by crafting manufacturing plan artifacts including build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists
