About The Position

The Trane Company Position Advanced Manufacturing Engineer New Product Development (AME-NPD) Project Lead will drive transformational change and design New Product Line through 3P Lean and Six Sigma tools. The role involves leading and driving lean transformation by eliminating waste and increasing the velocity of customer orders. It requires being a quick learner of new processes, products, and lean methodologies, documenting normal states, and identifying actions to correct abnormal conditions. The position utilizes Design, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing tools to identify cost savings opportunities and conduct feasibility studies. It involves working with 3P Manufacturing Engineers, Design Leaders, and Engineering Leaders to prioritize projects, and collaborating with the 3P design team, Engineering team, and Plant Hourly Associates to improve measurements, analysis, development, and implementation of tools such as gap analysis, process performance, standard work, and cycle time reduction. Additionally, the role involves developing, measuring, and reporting on safety and quality criteria of New Product Design, and assisting other manufacturing team members with project completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical and Industrial (or related degree) preferred
  • At least 5 years of lean transformation and/or project planning/implementation work experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, Auto-Cad, Pro-E required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak with both senior management and production.
  • Ability to assign priorities in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Able to work in flexible shift depending on project needs

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Knowledge or Six Sigma certification a plus.
