The Manufacturing Engineer leads engineering initiatives for the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment to meet operational goals within our Access and Delivery Solution Assembly (ADSA) business. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, this role partners with cross-functional and cross-site teams (Production, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Process Development, Supplier, etc.) to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes, while demonstrating our commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving, data analysis and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Materials Science or Chemical)
  • Experience working in the medical device industry
  • Experience with polymers, sub-assemblies and/or thermal processes
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop and present ideas using visual communication methods
  • Experience with validation and qualification of equipment and processes

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring equipment and process performance; troubleshoot and analyze the root cause of non-conformances, low yields, and other issues related to production and product quality
  • Planning and prioritizing daily work to meet production and project goals; anticipate risks and address unexpected challenges
  • Applying problem solving and process improvement methodologies to complex manufacturing processes to resolve issues across multiple product lines
  • Training and providing work direction to manufacturing operators and technicians
  • Identifying and escalating quality signals to ensure alignment with the quality system requirements
  • Leading projects with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Collaborating with divisional customer teams (e.g. PD, R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.) to deliver new product introductions, change management, process improvements, and business continuity projects
  • Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data to interpret and report findings to peers and leadership
  • Partnering with vendors/suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of materials, equipment, fixturing, etc.
  • Identifying and prioritizing improvement opportunities; communicate with key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met
