Manufacturing Engineer II

About The Position

It is the responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer II to provide assistance and technical expertise for the manufacturing operations in support of the company objective of developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing process and methods in accordance with product specifications, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience is required.
Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access experience is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry is required.
Ability to read blueprints from manual and auto cad documents is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Experience with Solidworks/CAD is preferred.
SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support and solve technical manufacturing issues.
Implement Quality Control requirements in coordination with the Quality Department.
Document and submit product improvements as appropriate.
Improve product quality and reduce manufacturing costs by maximizing efficiencies and developing optimum procedures.
Assure the ability to cost effectively manufacture new products before market introduction.
Develop and maintain SOP’s for all manufacturing processes in accordance with established formats.
Develop and maintain effective procedures to help ensure that all product routings are complete, accurate, and reflect the company’s lean thinking initiatives.
Reduce existing manufacturing lead times.
Reduce manufacturing lot sizes to gain reductions in overall inventory levels.
Reduce materials movement in our manufacturing process.
Integrate new product development with manufacturing processes to reduce the time in which we can introduce new products.
Plan, develop, justify and submit Capital Equipment Requests (CER’s) required for new machines and other capital expenditures required for manufacturing.
Adhere to and be a leader in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Kaizen methodologies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
