Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) and 2-5 years of experience; OR 5-8 years of relevant technical experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve machinery and process-related technical issues.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience applying engineering principles to enhance production efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train, mentor, and effectively transfer knowledge to internal teams.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Will spend the majority of the time on the production floor.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) for designing and modifying manufacturing processes and equipment layouts.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including waste reduction, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with 24v circuits
  • Experience with vision systems.
  • Experience with complex, fully automated manufacturing systems, including automation integration, machine troubleshooting, and high-volume production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations, identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Enhance manufacturing methods and processes to improve product quality, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data to evaluate production efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and provide data-driven recommendations to management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the production process, collaborating with production teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical training to production staff on new manufacturing processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensure proper execution of equipment tests and validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ), documenting procedures, test results, and analyses.
  • Travel up to 50% as needed to work with automation vendors for troubleshooting, equipment functionality assessment, and technical training. Facilitate knowledge transfer and training for automation technicians and internal teams.
  • Will spend the majority of the time on the production floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
