The Manufacturing Engineer II (ME II) works mainly within the operations group supporting operations and production requirements. The ME II will also support Design and Project Engineering efforts translating requirements into production implementation activities. Based on design requirements defined through drawings and specifications, the ME II plans and prepares manufacturing documentation according to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) practices, including Visual Work Instructions (VWI). The ME II determines equipment, tooling plans, and cellular manufacturing concepts for their assigned area of responsibility. The ME II will originate and develop new manufacturing and tooling concepts, provides data to Estimating for quoting customer requests, prepare reports showing areas for improvements, run improvement projects and initiate efforts in the development of new manufacturing and production techniques. The Manufacturing Manager will define specific responsibilities for each Manufacturing Engineer in accordance with their area of expertise. Responsibilities will be reviewed at least once annually preferably near/during the performance review period or as organizational changes occur. The ME II plans and carries out policies and procedures for manufacturing operation efforts utilized in the manufacturing areas.
