Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. This is a 2nd Shift which includes a pay premium of 8%. Manufacturing Engineering provides technical expertise to numerous manufacturing and development programs within RMD. Our work involves electronic hardware for radar, missile, and combat systems. The Andover, MA location has over 1.7 million square feet of manufacturing/production space where product is both assembled and tested. Primary responsibilities include engagement with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines including Design, Test, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to manage production issues in the CCA assembly process. Attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, and an innovative approach will contribute to success in this role. The day-to-day responsibilities include resolution of production issues, initiate and contribute to process improvement and cost initiatives, cycle time reduction projects, and develop manufacturing process documentation. The desired candidate will be capable to work in a dynamic team environment. Extensive, on the job training, is provided.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
  • Disposition discrepant hardware
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Manufacturing process development and maintenance
  • Coordinate technical matters across different organizations and/or suppliers
  • Manage system integration projects and provide reliable data to the Customer enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the installation, integration checkout and test of operational system modifications and upgrades.
  • Communicate with many levels of program, other contractor and government stakeholders and works to positively guide parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
