About The Position

The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for understanding aircraft mechanical and avionics systems and coordinating aircraft production from work-order analysis through final product delivery. The role contributes to the design, manufacturing, and testing of aircraft and aerospace products; assesses proposed projects for safety and feasibility; and evaluates designs against flight-safety principles, customer requirements, and cost objectives. The engineer works with internal departments and external stakeholders to coordinate production, explain blueprint requirements, resolve technical issues, and support efficient helicopter build cycles. The position also supports research, program commonality, vendor coordination, and production tooling and material planning.

  • Establish long-term production bill-of-material business plans for five-year lookahead activities.
  • Define manufacturing capabilities and coordinate production layout with Industrial Engineering and Facilities.
  • Manage internal and external suppliers to ensure planning and technical understanding support the aircraft production master schedule.
  • Evaluate and validate inputs from design and program organizations to create and maintain aircraft work instructions.
  • Analyze and resolve design conflicts between multiple design holders, including TC and STC holders, and provide resolution and feedback on design procedures.
  • Formulate and implement aircraft build sequences and tailor them to customer requirements.
  • Provide shop-floor support, incorporate feedback, and work with operations technicians and management to mitigate issues and clarify as-built plans and work instructions.
  • Design cable harnesses and cable layouts for products manufactured at the plant.
