Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail, Microsoft Office software, Autodesk 2D or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, ergonomic principles, and classic industrial engineering principles.
  • Experience in equipment justification, specification and installation.
  • Experience in fabrication processes, and sheet metal processing
  • Strong presentation, teamwork and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of formal problem-solving methods.
  • Previous experience with new products and process introduction.

Responsibilities

  • Designs tools and/or machines of varying types for use in the manufacture of company products.
  • Redesigns, repairs, or replaces in-process production program equipment, production control hardware, and tooling.
  • Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
  • Develop solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling.
  • Sets up, operation, and training on new equipment for employees.
  • Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment and/or processes.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Develop labor standards for new and existing products and processes.
  • Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment and investigates their potential applications.
  • Utilize Lean principles and 6 sigma methodology to drive process improvement.
  • Participates in and leads Kaizen events.
  • Responsible for Labor Routings, Capacity Planning, and Cost Estimating.
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Responsible for supporting the current manufacturing and facilitating the continuous improvement processes associated with the manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Partner with maintenance team to improve equipment reliability
  • Serves as an alternate member of the Quality team attending meetings and implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Writes justifications for capital expenditures associated with Albany manufacturing improvements.
  • Coordinate the introduction of new products into the plant.
  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
  • Develops and performs time studies on manufacturing processes.
