Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support. Manufacturing Engineers design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your skills to implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
1+ year of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

Technical drawing interpretation
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing/Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) tools and systems (ie PRISM/SAP)
Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing Shop Floor Management tools and systems (ie cMES)
Demonstrated proficiency with Product Data Management tools and systems (ie Windchill/PDM)
Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements

Responsibilities

Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods.
Provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations.
Execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support.
Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team.
Implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.
Provide production floor support to operations.
Support Continuous Improvement efforts.
Provide Defect Prevention Team (DPT) support.
Ensure Manufacturing Data Package (MDP) readiness.
Handle Design interface and/or Change Requests (CR).
Manage Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE).
Capture lessons learned on current Production programs (ie Patriot, TPY, etc) and incorporate for future opportunity capture.
Train/Coach junior engineers in the value stream.
Conduct manufacturing and/or producibility reviews of new designs and other Concurrent engineering requests and/or tasks.
Investigate and drive resolution (including root cause and corrective action support) to production problems, including interfacing with suppliers/supplier quality and other value streams.
Work cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, test, and design.
