Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support. Manufacturing Engineers design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your skills to implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • 1+ year of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Technical drawing interpretation
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing/Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) tools and systems (ie PRISM/SAP)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing Shop Floor Management tools and systems (ie cMES)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Product Data Management tools and systems (ie Windchill/PDM)
  • Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods.
  • Provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations.
  • Execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support.
  • Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team.
  • Implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.
  • Provide production floor support to operations.
  • Support Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Provide Defect Prevention Team (DPT) support.
  • Ensure Manufacturing Data Package (MDP) readiness.
  • Handle Design interface and/or Change Requests (CR).
  • Manage Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE).
  • Capture lessons learned on current Production programs (ie Patriot, TPY, etc) and incorporate for future opportunity capture.
  • Train/Coach junior engineers in the value stream.
  • Conduct manufacturing and/or producibility reviews of new designs and other Concurrent engineering requests and/or tasks.
  • Investigate and drive resolution (including root cause and corrective action support) to production problems, including interfacing with suppliers/supplier quality and other value streams.
  • Work cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, test, and design.
