Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Technical Drawings
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred majors: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of military and commercial manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Materials/ Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). SAP/ CMES knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes and/or assembly of mechanical and electronic assemblies in an industrial or laboratory setting.
  • Experience in reading technical drawings, tracking, and documenting manufacturing processes for assembly.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Gage R&Rs, Capability Studies, Design of Experiments (DOE) or other quantitative continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience in a working environment closely teaming with different levels of stakeholders.
  • Presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Write manufacturing plans and instructions in accordance with engineering specifications, quality requirements, safety needs, and security requirements.
  • Generate Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Participate in tooling reviews and provide evaluation and feedback of tool designs.
  • Review hardware for compliance; generate work/rework/repair documentation; perform troubleshooting to support production activities.
  • Determine the causes of defects and improve processes through updates to work instructions, tooling, process, programs, or equipment; present results of investigations to peers and management at Corrective Action Board (CAB).
  • Troubleshoot to support production activities and project delivery.
