The selected candidate will develop and optimize CNC milling programs and machining processes for complex aerospace components while supporting production troubleshooting, tooling improvements, manufacturability reviews, and process optimization activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on CNC machining and programming experience, particularly within multi-axis milling environments, along with expertise in CAD/CAM systems, aerospace manufacturing, and precision machining of titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical field with 3+ years of experience OR Associate Degree with 6+ years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of related experience
- Strong CNC Mill Machining experience
- Experience with multi-axis vertical machining centers
- Experience with horizontal machining centers
- Minimum 3+ years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software
- Hands-on machine setup and machining experience
- Strong understanding of precision machining processes
- Ability to support production troubleshooting and prove-outs
Nice To Haves
- Siemens NX CNC programming experience
- Experience with machine automation integration
- Experience inspecting machined components
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Degree in: Mechanical Engineering/ Manufacturing Engineering/ Industrial Engineering
- Experience machining: Stainless steel/ Titanium/ Aluminum
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC mill machining processes for new and existing aerospace components
- Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions including operation sequences, tooling requirements, gauging requirements, and machine setup requirements
- Generate machine-ready NC code and support prove-outs on the shop floor
- Support machining operations for high-precision milled parts and sub-assemblies
- Troubleshoot tooling issues, gauging issues, workholding challenges, and inspection concerns
- Assist with machine setup and production support
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve producibility
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes and equipment
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturability
- Recommend design and process improvements
- Estimate setup/run times, tooling hours, and manufacturing costs
- Support cost estimation activities for new business opportunities
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, CNC Machinists, Quality Teams, and Production Teams
- Mentor junior engineers and team members
- Support Lean Manufacturing and process optimization initiatives
