About The Position

Our Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join our Prismatic Manufacturing Group where you’ll play a critical role in transitioning operations into our next-generation Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) facility. As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer, you’ll be at the forefront of both new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. You’ll work hands-on with milled parts, applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance for both primary milling and secondary operations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with three (3) or more years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with six (6) or more years of relevant professional experience, or eight (8) or more years of proven professional experience
  • Proficiency in CNC Mill Machining
  • Three (3) or more years experience CNC Programming using CAD/CAM software
  • Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Background in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with machine automation integration
  • Skills in inspection of machined parts
  • Hands-on experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum
  • Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC Mill and secondary machining processes for both new and legacy components
  • Create detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructions that meet rigorous engineering specifications
  • Define operation sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements for precision part fabrication
  • Troubleshoot shop floor issues, including tooling, gauging, workholding, and inspection challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and enhance producibility
  • Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies
  • Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and recommend design improvements
  • Assist in the creation of machine-ready code and be hands-on in the production environment, assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting
  • Estimate setup/run times and tooling hours; contribute to cost estimation for new business proposals
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes and equipment
