As the Manufacturing Engineer – Capital Equipment & Factory Transition Lead, you will serve as the primary engineering lead for factory transitions into new or updated manufacturing spaces. You will guide engineering activities related to capital equipment selection, equipment validation, and product validation as production capabilities are established or migrated. You will identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements to ensure successful execution across all transition phases.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in managing equipment down-selection processes and coordinating end‑to‑end factory readiness, including close interfacing with facilities, construction contractors, and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless installation, validation, and production startup.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in standing up new processes and facilities.
  • Experience of circuit card assemblies and microelectronic products and processes.
  • Experience with financial management principles or Earned Value Management System (EVMS) concepts to support planning, tracking, and reporting of transition activities.

Responsibilities

  • Apply manufacturing process engineering to down-select and recommend capital equipment aligned to capability and schedule requirements.
  • Partner with supply chain to support sourcing, procurement, and vendor engagement.
  • Coordinate vendor equipment testing, lift‑and‑shift preparation, and factory space readiness prior to equipment arrival.
  • Support equipment installation, facilities interfaces, and acceptance testing.
  • Oversee equipment setup, verify process capability, and drive cross-functional approvals.
  • Lead product validation for all operations to enable release of manufacturing documentation for production.
  • Support factory floor setup and readiness activities to ensure successful production start.
