About The Position

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a proactive and organized Manufacturing Document Control Administrator. The Manufacturing Document Control Administrator shall collect all completed production orders from the manufacturing spaces, organize the completed build packages, audit build packages for completion and accuracy, and store documents in accordance with division document retention requirements. This position resides in the Systems Process and Assurance Section and will report to the Document Control and Records Management (DCRM) Group Leader. ESED serves the nation in two critical areas: advancing enrichment technologies and exploring stable isotope production and applications. The division leverages an elite staff of scientists and engineers with the world-leading capabilities of ORNL to deliver groundbreaking advancements with a variety of applications, from national security to life-saving medical treatments. The DCRM Group provides division-wide services in support of the strategic advancement of science and technology focused on the research and development of prototype enrichment devices for processing uranium-bearing and stable isotope compounds.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–4+ years of experience in manufacturing, production control, document control, or production planning.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across teams and departments.
  • Organized, self-driven and has attention to detail
  • Ability to gather information from stakeholders, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement solutions in a team setting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-placement drug test and participate in an ongoing random drug testing program.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Word), SharePoint.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP or Oracle).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience with Bl tools and basic project management reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Collect completed production orders and build packages from designated lab spaces.
  • Develop and maintain written requirements for components and documentation necessary for build packet completion.
  • Maintain accountability for final package quality by performing independent reviews and confirming adherence to all quality requirements.
  • Perform comprehensive audits of completed build packets and retain audit records for trend monitoring and gap analysis.
  • Manage the completed build packet retention process, including procedure documentation, record retention, and ongoing support of manufacturing operations.
  • Lead process improvement efforts for manufacturing build packet document retention, driving standardized, efficient, and compliant record management practices.
