About The Position

We’re seeking a collaborative and curious Manufacturing Data Engineer to help modernize and support the data and network capabilities of our manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to ensure production data is accessible, reliable, and actionable. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university or college, or High school diploma or GED with at least 6 years of relevant hands‑on experience
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Grafana, Excel, or similar
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., Oracle, ADX, MySQL, or comparable platforms)
  • Working knowledge of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP configuration
  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, VLANs, firewalls, and related concepts
  • Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with a practical, solution‑focused approach
  • Clear, respectful communicator who can work effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a cross‑functional team
  • Organized and detail‑oriented, with an appreciation for documentation and follow‑through
  • Comfortable partnering with remote teams while supporting on‑site manufacturing needs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Exposure to OT (Operational Technology) and IT integration
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, or continuous learning within data and manufacturing systems

Responsibilities

  • Ensure manufacturing equipment and control systems are connected to the site equipment LAN, with reliable data flow to central data servers.
  • Design, build, and deliver data visualizations that help teams monitor product quality, manufacturing throughput, labor efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Partner with process engineers to aggregate and analyze data that supports root‑cause analysis and resolution of product quality issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve or automate data collection and reporting processes.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members on how to access, understand, and use available data.
  • Monitor network performance and respond to alerts or outages in a timely, solution‑oriented manner.
  • Collaborate with central IT and data infrastructure teams on enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing management of site data systems.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
  • Support network security efforts, including firewall configurations and access controls.
  • Document data infrastructure designs, changes, and standard procedures to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Provide technical support to end users and thoughtfully escalate complex issues when needed.
