About The Position

Lukjan Metal Products is hiring a Custodian for its Kings Mountain, North Carolina facility. The role maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout production, warehouse, office, break, restroom, and designated outdoor areas through routine cleaning and sanitation. This is a full-time position of at least 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including overtime, may periodically be expected based on business needs and projects. The custodian may also assist with production when needed or when time allows.

Requirements

• Ability to drive a forklift and operate small machinery, including a scissor lift, as trained and authorized.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment, buffers, and chemical safety rules.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work at elevated heights.
• Ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, reach, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to adapt and respond positively, effectively, and efficiently to change, delays, and shifting priorities and goals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

• Previous cleaning or custodial experience within a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning in production, warehouse, office, and common areas.
• Mop break rooms, offices, and restrooms; do not mop production or warehouse manufacturing areas.
• Sweep production floors, walk paths, and work zones, removing debris to support safety.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock break rooms and restrooms.
• Clean tables, counters, microwaves, refrigerators, and floors in break rooms.
• Dust surfaces, empty trash, clean floors, and keep office and manufacturing workspaces tidy.
• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Wipe down door handles, railings, shared equipment surfaces, and other frequently touched areas.
• Respond promptly to spills using proper containment and cleanup procedures, and notify supervisors of hazards.
• Monitor cleaning supply levels and request replenishment when needed.
• Keep entryways, sidewalks, and designated outdoor areas clean and free of litter and debris.
• Operate cleaning equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and industrial vacuum cleaners, as trained and authorized; use ladders safely as needed.
• Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.
• Assist with production when needed or when additional time is available.
