About The Position
This standard defines the Manufacturing Controls Engineer Job Description for the Clanton plant of Adient. The role involves designing, developing, and supervising electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. It also includes the installation and technical support of PLC hardware and software, with a preference for Siemens. The engineer will assist with needs assessments for computer and software requirements, provide PLC and PC training, and design, code, test, and debug simple programs while maintaining and documenting them. This role also involves assisting higher-level personnel with design work, following established methods, and responding to production system disruptions in a timely manner. The engineer will help provide solutions to meet user needs through technical logic.
Requirements
- Programmable knowledge in PLC (Siemens preferred.)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and supervise electrical control systems, equipment and machinery
- Installation and technical support of PLC hardware and software
- Assist with needs assessment for computer and software requirements in all areas of the facility
- Assist with PLC and PC training as required
- Designs, codes, tests and debugs simple programs
- Maintains and documents programs
- Assists higher level programmer/analyst/engineer with design work
- Follows established methods and procedures
- Responds to disruptions of production systems in a timely and appropriate manner
- Helps provide solutions in making technical logic meet the needs of the users
