The Manufacturing Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems for automated manufacturing equipment. This role involves developing and maintaining control logic, configuring HMI/SCADA systems, and supporting manufacturing execution systems (MES). The engineer will also integrate, troubleshoot, and optimize robotics, vision systems, and automated material handling equipment. Key responsibilities include leading controls design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, collaborating with vendors, and providing technical support for production equipment downtime. Additionally, the role requires designing and validating machine safety systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and optimizing control strategies to improve cycle time, reliability, and equipment uptime. The engineer will also analyze performance data, implement process automation improvements, and lead root cause investigations for automation-related issues. Maintaining and enforcing plant automation standards, including programming architecture, documentation, and commissioning procedures, is also a critical part of this position.
