About The Position

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing & CI Manager. This is an on-site position based at our Horseheads, NY facility. This role leads Operational Excellence initiatives across the plant by leveraging the Eaton Business System, Eaton Business Excellence criteria, and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies. The position is responsible for driving engineering and CI efforts to achieve measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and cost performance. This leader will oversee Manufacturing Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams, standardize processes, ensure compliance with quality systems, and foster a culture of lean thinking and continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Set Up Reduction, VSM, TPM, Lean Material Flow) in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leading or people or project teams
  • Project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive Operational Excellence through the Eaton Business System, ensuring alignment with Eaton Business Excellence criteria and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead and manage Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Supervisors, and Continuous Improvement teams, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management.
  • Direct plant-wide CI initiatives to improve safety, productivity, quality, customer metrics, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee activities of the Lean Coordinator and CI tool champions to achieve measurable business results and target assessment scores.
  • Standardize and ensure consistent deployment of manufacturing processes across the VI product line.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Manual, EQMS, and all applicable quality standards through effective implementation and oversight.
  • Champion the deployment and execution of the Eaton Quality System to drive waste reduction, improve first-pass yield, reduce scrap, and shorten lead times.
  • Lead Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS/MESH) program execution in partnership with site EHS leadership to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and sustain a lean culture by leading ELSS assessment processes, Kaizen events, and development of CI capabilities across the plant.
  • Train and develop CI tool experts in lean methodologies and Kaizen practices; actively lead and participate in improvement events.
  • Manage capacity analysis, capital planning, and execution of the annual capital plan; oversee departmental budgets.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by developing 5-year plans for quality, manufacturing technology, lean initiatives, and capital investments.
  • Ensure the site remains competitive by identifying and implementing new materials, equipment, technologies, and process improvements.
  • Prioritize and execute engineering projects and lean initiatives based on value stream mapping and gap analysis.
  • Drive projects to successful completion with measurable improvements in plant performance and key metrics.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to optimize performance and support professional growth.
  • Share best practices across the site, enterprise, and with external partners, including suppliers and customers.
  • Provide technical leadership and input in the selection of suppliers, contractors, and equipment vendors.
