About The Position

James Hardie is seeking a Manufacturing Business Systems Analyst to join their team. This role involves analyzing engineering and business data processing problems, developing new business processes, and implementing solutions for complex applications. The analyst will support stakeholders in preparing return-on-investment analyses and business cases, assess existing application systems, and provide ongoing assistance to manufacturing application users. Responsibilities include troubleshooting program and system malfunctions, updating configurations to improve workflow, and collaborating with developers on end-user testing. The role also involves consulting with business stakeholders to optimize processes and technologies, coordinating support escalations, and interfacing with auditors during SOX audits. The analyst will ensure adherence to Information Systems Helpdesk Service Level Agreements, research solutions, develop functional specifications, and create training documentation. They will use computer analysis for medium-sized projects, communicate project status, and recommend business process changes based on manufacturing solutions and best practices. The position also includes assisting users with data reporting methods. Travel to various worksites in the US is required at least once per quarter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related plus 5 years of experience in designing, configuring and implementing Manufacturing Execution (MES) and Quality Management Systems (QMS), and business partnering or related.
  • Deep expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems.
  • Strong business partnering capabilities and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working alongside manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of current manufacturing practices.
  • High-level experience with data reporting tools, configuration and customization of applications, functional specification writing, root cause analysis, helpdesk ticketing, and service level agreement (SLA) monitoring.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Quality Systems Wonderware (a SCADA/HMI software) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze engineering and business data processing problems to develop new business processes and implement solutions to complex applications problems.
  • Support stakeholders to prepare return-on-investment analyses and business cases for project review and approvals to aid in decisions on system implementation.
  • Assess the usefulness of existing application systems.
  • Provide staff with ongoing assistance solving computer-related problems for Manufacturing applications.
  • Troubleshoot program and system malfunctions through root cause analysis and determine appropriate solutions to restore normal functioning.
  • Update configuration to improve workflow, working with developers to ensure adequate end user testing and acceptance.
  • Consult with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to optimize existing processes and technologies, ensure agreement on system principles, and assess new technologies and business solutions.
  • Coordinate support escalation, communication with business, service desk, and technical teams.
  • Support cross-functional issues investigation, testing, and resolution.
  • Interface with internal / external auditors during SOX audits.
  • Ensure that all Information Systems Helpdesk Service Level Agreements and metrics are adhered to.
  • Research and identify appropriate solutions to optimize and develop programs that meet staff requirements.
  • Develop, document, and revise functional specifications from business requirements for the development team.
  • Develop training and process documentation to work with new functionality and projects for staff.
  • Use the computer in the analysis and solution of business problems for medium sized projects from definition through implementation.
  • Communicate issues, enhancement, project status to business stakeholders and management.
  • Work closely with relevant business teams to recommend business process changes based on knowledge of manufacturing solutions and best business practices.
  • Provide staff with ongoing assistance solving computer-related problems for Manufacturing applications.
  • Assist users in determining the best methods for data reporting.
