About The Position

In this position, you will support automation programming and process development activities across multiple sites. You will configure, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced manufacturing equipment and work closely with engineers, technicians, and operations teams to ensure stable, efficient, and high quality automated production.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience operating or programming motion controlled or robotic equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in a production environment
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SCS, PVA, Kurtz Ersa, or Syneo automated equipment
  • Experience with conformal coating, selective solder, underfill, adhesive, or electronic assembly processes
  • Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, I/O, vision systems, or robotic motion platforms
  • Experience with SAP or MES systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to support multiple sites (25%-35% travel to regional locations)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and sustain programs for automated process equipment across Iowa Operations, i ncluding: SCS Precision Coat VI, PVA Delta 8, PVA Delta Therm, Kurtz Ersa Selective Solder, Syneo Automated Electric Press Fit
  • Support new automation deployments, including equipment installation, debug, parameter setup, and production qualification
  • Perform equipment recipe creation, change control, and documentation
  • Troubleshoot issues related to motion systems, sensors, pneumatics, coatings/adhesives, solder, and material-handling systems
  • Ensure consistent execution of automated processes across multiple Collins sites
  • Collaborate with operations to validate throughput, cycle time, and quality performance
  • Train operators and technicians on proper equipment use
  • Maintain safe work practices and follow all environmental, health, and safety guidelines
