About The Position

Responsible for assembling customer product according to specific instructions, and for building or repairing all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, and tools. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, operate various manual machine tools, and perform detailed assembly and inspection tasks. The position also involves assisting in process development, maintaining assembly fixtures, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. Occasional duties include assisting management and potentially training other employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • High degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where muscular control and delicate touch are required.
  • High degree of attention and care required, to prevent injury to self and others when operating machine tools.
  • Mechanically inclined with a strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year experience with manual tool room equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints or work from verbal or written instructions.
  • Operate manual mills, manual lathes, surface grinders, drill press, polishing wheel, thermal press and other equipment.
  • Assemble customer product according to print & instruction.
  • Perform required inspection before, during and after machining.
  • Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures and tools.
  • Perform visual inspections for burrs.
  • Perform deburring operation of parts, as required.
  • Assist in the development of assembly work instruction processes.
  • Organization and maintenance of all assembly fixtures.
  • Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.
  • Complete required preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken.
  • Meet visual acuity requirements (shades of color and color blindness).
  • Meet the requirements of the vision screening test.
  • Assist Production Manager or Engineering in other functions, as required.
  • Train others in similar roles once competency is demonstrated.
