About The Position

Airtronics is a US Government Contractor specializing in the manufacturing, machining, repair and overhaul of products in support of US DoD Agencies. We are currently hiring for the position of Manufacturing Assembler. The ideal candidate will have experience in Electrical and Mechanical assembly, building wire harnesses as well as troubleshooting electronics and electrical assemblies. Experienced in using tools such as drills, soldering guns, screwdrivers, precision measuring instruments, and other hand held tools as well as power tools. Will possess the ability to follow verbal or written instructions; i.e. blueprints, assembly layouts, and schematics to complete a wide variety of assembly and sub assembly tasks. Will be experienced in quality checks at incoming, in process, and final inspection, have knowledge of proper handling, cleaning, and characterization of electrical assemblies. Will emphasizes standardized working habits, ability to build everything to print or as required by company standards and adhere to proper inventory control procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in Electrical and Mechanical assembly
  • Military / Medical / Commercial cable and harnesses experience
  • Ability to assemble Mil-Spec. cables per drawings and technical documentation
  • Hand soldering experience, wires, components, etc.
  • Hand crimping experience per required specifications
  • Ability to recognize acceptable and defective crimps per standards
  • Drawing interpretation and reading
  • Basic math skills
  • Measurement skills, scales, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Continuity testing experience
  • IPC-620 experience or exposure to the spec
  • IPC J-STD-001 experience or exposure to the spec
  • Ability to become and maintain IPC-620 Certification with in-house training
  • Ability to become and maintain IPC J-STD-001 Certification with in-house training
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Applicant must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Building wire harnesses
  • Troubleshooting electronics and electrical assemblies
