About The Position

This role requires a Journeyman level machinist with at least 3 years of documented field experience. The machinist will adhere to and cut materials as per site specifications. Responsibilities include the general cleaning of the fabrication area. The individual must be able to follow instructions and read/follow prints for the installation and dismantling of insulation and metal shielding of piping and other equipment.

  • Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

  • Cut insulation to specified size using electric bandsaws and abrasive wheels.
  • Adhere insulation material to proper size and angles using adhesive prior to cutting.
  • Load finished insulation pieces in boxes to be sent to order site.
  • Retrieve necessary supplies from warehouse using forklift to transport.
  • Read and write to follow order specifications and to label finished product.
  • Utilize basic math skills to follow order specifications.
  • Capable of verbal or written communication with others regarding job tasks and work procedures.
  • Responsible for cleaning of area after cutting.
  • Responsible for checking operational condition of equipment prior to use and performing regular maintenance as needed (i.e., lubricant, changing blades, etc.).
  • Follows safety regulations and specifications as outlined by company regarding handling of materials and operation of equipment.
