About The Position

We are seeking a Manual QA Tester to ensure the quality and integrity of the Google Navigation System. This flexible role involves working with different teams across multiple projects and platforms (iOS & Android Devices). You will be responsible for testing the Navigation system on various mobile devices, emulators, and simulators, and updating the results in the client-provided tool. As part of the QA team, you will execute test cases, log bugs, track progress, and verify issue resolutions. A key aspect of this role is the willingness to drive vehicles and test the Map navigation system displayed in cars, including performing long-distance (1000KM) drive testing quarterly. You will also assist the leadership team in preparing metrics, tracking filed issues, and reviewing/updating test cases. This position requires knowledge of testing across various Android platforms, vehicle emulators & simulators, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate progress and issues effectively. Proficiency in iOS and ADB commands is essential.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid DL and willingness to perform Drive and test (Daily 2 Hrs Minimum)
  • Strong Test Engineer, well-versed with iOS & Android Testing skills
  • Experience using Simulators & Emulators
  • Exposure / Knowledge in Android Studio & ADB commands is a must
  • Excellent in creating reports and sharing and communicating with stake holders
  • Excellent Troubleshooting Skills
  • Experience with Native mobile application testing on Android
  • Must have testing experience with strong understanding of testing process and methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge on UI, Sanity, Regression, functional, Integration, accessibility, exploratory and compatibility testing concepts
  • Strong debugging skills and good knowledge in bug reporting, bug life cycle concepts and release cycles
  • Able to write, review, and execute test cases based on requirements
  • Good knowledge in details of the device (Android), adb commands, Unix commands
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • Similar experience driving and testing navigation systems in cars
  • Work exposure on Mac / Linux machines
