About The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The Manual Machinist is responsible for the setup and operation of conventional machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify aircraft components and tools. Working from engineering drawings and specifications, the successful candidate will machine precision parts while maintaining strict adherence to aerospace quality standards and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Journeyperson Machinist certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating manual machine tools in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, and materials.
- Experience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Proven proficiency using a manual boring mill (5 years experience)
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing or aircraft maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and specialty alloys.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and aerospace manufacturing standards.
- Experience manufacturing precision tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual boring mill, manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and other conventional machine tools.
- Manufacture and repair aircraft components, tooling, fixtures, and production aids.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, materials, feeds, and speeds to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Verify dimensions and maintain documented inspection records as required.
- Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all company, regulatory, and aerospace quality requirements.
- Participate in process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
