About The Position

Machinist position in Sterling Heights manufacturing facility. This person has to know old school machinery such as engine lathes and Bridgeport mills they will be working the tool room area. The following is a list of type of machines in the department they will be working with and running all of our machinist run the lines as well. old style Bridgeport, Mills, Lathes, Brazing 4 Arcade 3-axis mills.1 OKK 3-axis.1 MDV 3-axis mill.All have Fanuc controls.2 Hurco mills, with Winmax software (candidate must have experience with this software and mill)4 Engine lathes.1 Bridgeport mill.

Requirements

• Experience with engine lathes and Bridgeport mills.
• Familiarity with G and M codes.
• Experience with Fanuc controls.
• Experience with Hurco mills with Winmax software.
• Knowledge of 2 and 3D machining.
• Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, indicators, and blueprints.
• Great attention to detail and time management.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Planning, organizing, and scheduling your daily routine.
• Safety and security consciousness.
• Ability to handle lifting weight of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to make frequent bending and twisting movements and stand for the entirety of your shift.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with OKK machines.

Responsibilities

• Utilize set up sheets, drawings, and notes from the programmer to set up vertical milling centers.
• Set your own tools per job requirements.
• Change cutting tools and adjust feeds and speeds per job requirements.
• Perform minor edits to the program at the machine as needs.
• Set up and operate multiple machines at a time.
• Perform preliminary inspections of your work.
• Interpret aerospace drawings, parts lists, specifications, and client requirements.
• Monitor the condition and cleanliness of the building.
