About The Position
Roemer Machine, a leader in centrifuge repair, rebuilding, and precision machining, is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Manual Machinist in Davenport, Iowa. This role involves setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify precision metal components. The position requires reading blueprints and technical drawings, machining parts to specified tolerances, and verifying finished work with precision measuring instruments.
Requirements
- Previous experience with manual machining methods, tooling, metal properties, speeds, feeds, and tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
- Skilled with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and independently in an industrial machine shop environment.
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
