About The Position

Privately owned, well-established manufacturer with great benefits is hiring skilled operators for precision metal finishing and machining. This role involves operating manual machines such as surface grinders, Blanchards, mills, or belt grinders to perform various finishing tasks. The operator will be responsible for reading blueprints, following work instructions, and using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Requirements

• Experience with manual machining OR belt grinding / metal finishing
• Ability to inspect parts and hold ±0.001" tolerances
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Comfortable working independently and staying productive
• Able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in a shop environment

Nice To Haves

• Aerospace finishing experience
• Knowledge of surface finishes, Ra values, or AS9100 environments
• Experience with steels, aluminum, titanium, Inconel

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machines: surface grinders, Blanchard, mills, or belt grinders
• Perform grinding, deburring, polishing, radius blending, and surface finishing
• Read blueprints / drawings and follow detailed work instructions
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
• Work with tight tolerances and high-value metal parts
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow shop safety procedures
