About The Position

Turbo Drill Industries Inc. is hiring a Manual Lathe Machinist for the night shift in Conroe, Texas. This full-time role involves setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, and other machine tools to perform precision machining on new and rework parts. The machinist inspects finished parts for conformance to requirements, maintains close tolerances and efficient operations, and completes required paperwork and equipment maintenance. The role requires working independently and following company safety and housekeeping procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, in a job-shop setting.
Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints, including GD&T.
Basic math skills.
Ability to hold tolerances within .0001 inches.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders, and other machine tools for precision machining of new and rework parts.
Read blueprints and calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or calipers.
Monitor machine feed and speed during machining.
Hold tolerances within .0001 inches.
Ensure components are deburred, cleaned, and free from foreign material.
Inspect parts for conformance to requirements while maintaining close tolerances and maximum efficiency.
Confer with supervisory or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company procedures, rules, and regulations.
Complete preventive maintenance requirements for equipment.
Complete paperwork, maintain records, fill out inspection reports, and follow department standards.
Work independently and perform other duties as required.
