Requirements

• A minimum of 3+ years of manual lathe machining experience is required.
• Blueprint and BOM Interpretation: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Detail-Oriented: Demonstrated high levels of accuracy and attention to detail are crucial.
• Safety Awareness: Ability to work safely in a machine shop environment.
• Alloy Steel Knowledge: Good knowledge of and experience working with alloy steel materials.

Nice To Haves

• CNC Programming Knowledg preferred for roles involving CNC machining. Training is available for candidates with the right aptitude.
• Large Turning Experience: particularly with parts weighing over 1000 lbs.
• Lathe Experience: Beneficial to have experience with Monarch, Leblond, and Niles manual lathes.
• Overhead crane and Forklift Experience: (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate a range of horizontal lathes and manual vertical/horizontal turret lathes.
• Machining large-scale precision components (including parts weighing 1,000+ lbs).
• Perform prescision setups using blueprints, and conduct weekly preventative maintenance to ensure peak machine performance.
• Quality Assurance: Use manual precision tools Dial Calipers, Dial Indicators, and OD/ID Mics to verify dimensions and uphold quality standards.
• Material Management: Identify and label materials for traceability, including those slated for additional machining processes.
• Team collaboration: Flexible to operate different machinery as needed to support production goals.
