About The Position

Direct Hire Manual / Conventional Machinist Jacksonville, FL 32254 Pay: $30–$40 per hour (dependent upon experience) Direct Hire | Full-Time Overview: We are IMMEDIATELY seeking an experienced Manual / Conventional Machinist to join a dynamic team in Jacksonville, FL. We are looking for skilled individuals who are passionate about precision machining and who thrive in a collaborative, repair-focused environment. A significant portion of our work involves the repair, refurbishment, and manufacturing of turbine and rotating equipment components used in power generation and heavy industrial applications. Candidates with experience machining turbine components, shafts, housings, or similar large or high-value parts are strongly preferred. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, certification in machining is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Manual / Conventional Machinist or similar role.
  • Experience machining turbine components, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial parts strongly preferred.
  • Experience in repair-focused machining environments preferred over high-volume production machining.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents including blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Must provide your own pair of steel toe boots.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and conventional machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Machine, repair, and modify turbine and rotating equipment components to precise tolerances.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products using precision measuring instruments.
  • Assist in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
  • Assist in developing machining processes and techniques to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
