About The Position

The Manifestor keeps track of all incoming and outgoing products and assists in all related functions in record keeping requirements and inventory. This role involves scanning pallets to accurately capture proper case count, weights, and dates, documenting numbers and codes per pallet, and creating labels for pallets. The Manifestor ensures all paperwork is completed in accordance with established time frames and record keeping requirements, and verifies that pallets and labels are correct before being sent to the right destination. The position also requires participation as a member of the Team, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. This includes coordinating work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attending appropriate team meetings. As a team member, the Manifestor fosters strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plans, budgets, and policy changes. They accept responsibility to quickly identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bring them to the attention of the team leader, and work supportively with the team to resolve issues and reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization. The Manifestor is expected to be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand their responsibility to maintain this familiarity and their role in supporting these systems, including considering the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns and improvement ideas. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Manifestor and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function, nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position. The role requires the ability to efficiently work in a plant environment, standing, reaching, and moving about the facility for the entire shift in a cold, hot, noisy environment. It involves light to moderate physical effort, including walking, bending & twisting at the neck & waist, light lifting/carrying, frequent sitting, standing, simple grasping, fine manipulation/feeling, reaching at shoulder level, repetitive motion of the shoulders and arms, constant repetitive motion of the hands, talking, and use of vision and hearing. Stooping, bending, climbing, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds are also required.

Requirements

  • Std waterproof gloves, hearing protection, chemical resistant apron & gloves, face shield, reinforced toed footwear
  • Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.

  • Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
