About The Position

The Manifestor keeps track of all incoming and outgoing products and assists in all related functions in record keeping requirements and inventory. This role involves scanning pallets to accurately capture proper case count, weights, and dates, documenting numbers and codes per pallet, and creating labels for pallets. The Manifestor ensures all paperwork is completed in accordance with established time frames and record-keeping requirements, and verifies that pallets and labels are correct before they are sent to their destination. The position also requires participation as a member of the Team, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. This includes coordinating work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members, attending team meetings, and fostering cohesiveness regarding major issues. The Manifestor is expected to identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bring them to the attention of the team leader, and work collaboratively to resolve issues and achieve synergy within the organization. Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) is essential, along with understanding the responsibility to maintain this familiarity and communicate concerns or improvement ideas. Requirements

  • Have the ability to read and understand training material and policies.
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Shipping Manifestors may be required to obtain and maintain a palletjack and forklift license.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in shipping and receiving, working with large moving equipment.
  • Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
  • High school diploma/GED; or one to three months related experience or training.

Responsibilities

  • Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
  • Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
